Set on the British warship H.M.S. Pinafore, in port at Portsmouth, England, this light-hearted musical tells the story of a naval captain’s daughter who is in love with a lowly tar. Her emotional plight complicates his plans to marry her off to a ranking navy seaman.
H.M.S. Pinafore, written by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, was the second-longest running musical theater production to date when it closed after 571 performances at London’s Opera Comique in 1878.
The cast includes: Mikayla Ressler/Larisa Spurlock double-cast as Josephine; Alex Lund as Ralph Rackstraw; Andrew Whittaker as Captain Corcoran; Dana Anquoe/Alison Moore Smith as Little Buttercup; Joseph Smith/Eric Ramaekers as Sir Joseph Porter, K.C.B.; Abigail Turner/Alana Smith as Cousin Hebe; along with a fine supporting cast.
